Have you ever prayed and were not sure that you were praying the will of God? Have you noticed that despite the fact that you pray so much, only a few of your prayer requests have been answered? Have you been wondering how best you can pray to get better results in your prayers? Here is the best way to pray in order to get results: praying the scriptures.
The Seven Churches in the book of Revelation had the benefit of receiving a letter from Jesus Christ regarding their local assemblies that included a commendation, a rebuke, an exhortation, and a promise - reward.
As we have studied the seven churches, the following "prayer points" have been garnered - collected from our study.
1) Father, we pray that we will persevere and have patience, as we labor - work for You; help us not get tired {Revelation 2:3}.
2) Father, help us to remember our “first love” Jesus Christ, as when we were first saved. Forgive us and help us to do what You have called us to do {Revelation 2:4-5}.
3) Father, help us to have ears to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying to the church. Let us overcome and be counted worthy to eat from the tree of life {Revelation 2:7}.
4) Father, help us not to fear any of the things that we will suffer - experience, as we are being tested; help us be faithful, even unto death – even if it means death, that we may receive the crown of life that is promised to those that win the victory - the overcomers {Revelation 2:10}.
5) Father, help us to hold fast to Your Name and not to deny our faith in You {Revelation 2:13}.
6) Father, help us not to be deceived by false doctrines; not to give ourselves, our time or anything to idols; anything that would draw us – pull us away from You; help us keep ourselves pure, both physically and spiritually {Revelation 2:14}.
7) Father, as we overcome, we thank You for every promise and reward.
8) Father, we ask, that our good works, love, service, faith, and patience are greater and greater each day than when we first believed {Revelation 2:19}.
9) Father, forgive us our sins; forgive us for tolerating the “Jezebel spirit” that has been allowed to influence the church, with false prophecies and teachings. Help us to expose this false spirit and its doctrines; help us to live by and uphold the truth of Your Word {Revelation 2:21-22}.
10) Father, help us to hold fast to what You have given to us and do what You have called us to do until You send our Lord Jesus Christ for us {Revelation 2:25-26}.
11) Father, we pray for those that are lukewarm that believe that they have Your Name, however, they are almost dead; wake us up and strengthened us in Your way; wake us up to our condition, because many of our works are not acceptable to You {Revelation 3:1}.
12) Father, help us to remember all that You have done for us and all that we have received from Your hand. Help us to repent of all our sins; help us to be watchful for the coming of Jesus Christ, so that He will not come upon us as a thief in the night {Revelation 3:2}.
13) Father, help us not to have defiled garments but to be worthy to wear white garments; do not erase our names from the Book of Life; we want Jesus Christ to confess our names before You and before the angels {Revelation 3:4-5}.
14) Father, set before us an “Open Door” that no one can shut. Though we have little strength, help us to keep Your Word and never to deny Your Name {Revelation 3:8}.
15) Father, help us to keep Your command to persevere, and keep us from the hour of trial, which the whole earth will experience {Revelation 3:10}
16) Father, help us to hold fast so that no one may take our crown {Revelation 3:11}
17) Father, keep us from the Laodicean way of depending on ourselves and not You; help us to not be a lukewarm church {Revelation 3:18}.
18) Father, help us to be zealous for You and quick to repent when necessary {Revelation 3:19}.
19) Father, we hear You knocking at the door of our heart; we open the door and ask that You would come in, so we can know You intimately – deeply and fellowship with You forever {Revelation 3:20}.
20) Father, help us overcome as Jesus Christ has overcome, having won the victory {Revelation 3:21}.
In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen!!!
